Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

• Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
• Application means the software program provided by the Company downloaded by You on any electronic device, named DebitCredit.
• Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to DebitCredit, operated as an independent developer under the ABDevelopers brand.
• Cookies are small files that are placed on Your computer, mobile device or any other device by a website, containing the details of Your browsing history on that website among its many uses.
• Country refers to: India.
• Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
• Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
• Service refers to the Application or the Website or both.
• Service Providers means the third-party companies and tools the Company uses to operate the Service. See "Third-Party Service Providers" below for the specific providers used.
• Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
• Website refers to DebitCredit, accessible from www.debitcredit.app.
• You means the individual accessing or using the Service.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You, including:

• Email address
• Phone number
• Usage Data

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service, and may include Your Device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

When You access the Service through a mobile device, We may also collect the type of mobile device You use, a unique device ID, mobile operating system, and mobile browser type.

Information Collected While Using the Application

While using Our Application, We collect the following to provide its core features:

• Ledger data. Contact names, transaction amounts, dates, notes, groups, and any photos or attachments You add to track who owes You and who You owe. This is stored on Your device and synced to Your account via Firebase (a Google service) so it's available if You reinstall the App or change devices.
• Attachments. If You attach a photo or file to an entry, it may optionally be saved to Your own Google Drive. The App only creates and manages files it creates itself (the drive.file scope) — it cannot read, browse, or access any other files in Your Drive. This applies to attachments only; Your ledger data itself is stored via Firebase, not Google Drive.
• App Lock PIN and Entry Lock password. If You enable these, the PIN or password is stored only on Your device to protect access to the App or to deleting entries. We cannot recover these for You if forgotten.
• Statement sharing links. If You share an account as a link, a copy of that account's statement is made available at a private web address, protected by the 4-digit PIN You set. Stopping sharing immediately deletes the shared record and link; it is not just hidden.
• Subscription and billing data. If You purchase a Plus or Premium subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store Your payment card details — Google handles billing, receipts, and renewal on Our behalf. We only receive confirmation of Your subscription status and entitlement.

You can delete any of this data from within the App at any time.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate DebitCredit. Each processes certain data as described below, subject to their own privacy policies:

You can review or manage the data these providers collect through your device's ad-tracking and privacy settings.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service.
• To manage Your Account and give You access to the functionalities available to registered users.
• For the performance of a contract, including the subscriptions You have purchased.
• To contact You by email or push notification regarding updates, security notices, or informative communications.
• To manage and respond to Your requests to Us.
• For other purposes such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, and improving Our Service.

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

• With Service Providers: as listed in the "Third-Party Service Providers" table above, to operate, analyze, and improve the Service, and to display advertising.
• For business transfers: if the Company's assets are sold, transferred, or acquired, Your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
• With Your consent: for any other purpose with Your explicit consent.

We do not currently have corporate affiliates or subsidiaries. If this changes, this Policy will be updated accordingly before any such sharing takes place.

Retention of Your Personal Data

• Ledger data remains on Your device and in Your Firebase account until You delete it or delete Your account.
• Attachments saved to Your Google Drive remain until You delete them from Your Drive.
• Shared statement links are deleted immediately when You stop sharing.
• Usage/diagnostic data is retained for up to 12 months for troubleshooting and product improvement, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to investigate misuse.

We retain Personal Data beyond these periods only to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information may be processed by Us and by the Service Providers listed above, which may involve transferring and storing Your data outside Your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy wherever it is processed.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Law Enforcement

The Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Other Legal Requirements

The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

• Comply with a legal obligation
• Protect and defend the rights or property of the Company
• Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
• Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public
• Protect against legal liability

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. On-device measures like App Lock and Entry Lock protect access to the App and Your entries, but You are responsible for keeping Your PIN and password confidential — We cannot recover them if forgotten.

Your Rights

Depending on where You live, You may have the right to:

• Access the Personal Data We hold that relates to You
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete Your data, which You can do directly within the App for ledger data, or by contacting Us for account-level deletion
• Withdraw consent for optional data uses, such as advertising

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed at children, and We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18 years of age. If You are a parent or guardian and believe Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us so We can remove it.

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites or services.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
