Why shops move from the paper register
A paper khata works until a page gets wet, a customer disputes a total, or you need to know in a hurry how much everyone owes you. Adding up pages by hand takes time, and mistakes cost real money.
In DebitCredit every customer has their own ledger. Each time they buy on credit you add a credit entry (they owe you); when they pay you add a debit entry. The balance updates instantly, and your home screen shows the total you are owed across all customers.

How a typical day looks
- At the counter: open the customer, tap add, type the amount and a short note like "rice 10 kg, oil 2 L". It takes a few seconds.
- When they pay: add the payment as a debit entry. The running balance shows exactly what is left.
- End of month: create a PDF or Excel statement for one customer or everyone, or share a read-only link to their ledger protected by a 4-digit PIN.
- No signal? The app keeps working offline and syncs later.
Useful features for shopkeepers
- Due-date reminders so you remember to ask for payment on time.
- Groups to separate, for example, regular customers from wholesale buyers.
- App Lock with a PIN, so staff can't open your books.
- Five languages — English, Hindi, Gujarati, Arabic and Urdu.
- Computer access for Premium and Plus: review every account on the DebitCredit web app at the end of the day.
